Choose spacing for the way you write
Try 5 mm graph paper for compact notes and sketches, 5 mm dots for flexible layouts, or 8 mm lines for more writing space. These are starting points; choose a spacing that suits your handwriting. The controls accept increments of 0.1 mm.
What the margin setting means
The pattern uses complete intervals, centered within the sheet. The entered margin is a minimum: extra space is shared equally on opposite edges. For example, A4 with 5 mm spacing and 10 mm minimum margins has 38 columns and 55 rows of grid cells. Its horizontal margin is 10 mm and its top/bottom margin is 11 mm.
Lined paper contains horizontal rules only. Dot spacing is measured center to center. The generated file has no watermark or header, leaving the usable area for your work.
Keep the spacing correct when printing
Choose matching paper and Actual Size / 100%, with one PDF page per sheet. Fit can change every interval: 5 mm spacing printed at 96% becomes 4.8 mm. Measure ten intervals—50 mm for a 5 mm grid—to make a small scale error easier to see. A minimum margin does not guarantee compatibility with every printer; increase it if your printer requires more space.
